Residents along the Grand River in Dunnville, Ont., have been asked by the OPP to leave their homes while authorities try to deal with ice jam-related flooding that is lapping up against some local residences.
Norfolk County OPP Const. Mark Foster told ctvtoronto.ca that the flooding has been caused by an ice jam that has occurred on the Grand River between Dunnville and Port Maitland, about four kilometres southeast of Dunnville.

The Chronicle
"It’s like watching a hurricane coming. You know it’s gonna hit and you know it’s going to cause lots of damage, but there’s nothing you can do about it," said Laurie Garbutt as he and his neighbours watched giant sheets ice leading a glut of water flow toward their homes along the Grand River in Dunnville. Cayuga and Dunnville were particularly hard hit as melting snow and ice jams caused flooding along the 300 km. long waterway.

Don Thompson watches as the Grand River flows into his backyard and toward his home on Main Street in Dunnville. Some of his trees, a greenhouse and shed were destroyed by massive ice sheets and his boat was broken from its dry mooring and driven into the greenhouse. Many others along the river suffered similar damage.

Binky2
Is back home, there is a lot of work to do after the floods. Thank heavens they and their house are safe. All the hard work they have done over the last couple of years has paid off. x
I know you have a lot of hard work to do, but you will get through it and it will once again become your beautiful dream home. x
